Welcome to this historic gem located within walking distance of Downtown Wyandotte. This home is a historic part of Wyandotte and rarely comes to market. The front porch columns were all replaced and milled by a company in PA. The following excerpt is quoted from historical documents: The first shovel of dirt was turned for the construction of the John Griffith home in 1906. John Griffith, a former employee of John B Ford at the Pittsburg Plate Glass CO. came to the Michigan Alkali Co as an auditor in 1896. Through out his years service he served as the director, secretary treasure of the chemical company as well as the chief auditor of the plants and its subsidiaries. Mr. Griffith became active in civic affairs as well. He served three terms as trustee of the Village of Ford, as a member of the Wyandotte School Board and as director of the Wyandotte Savings Bank. The masonic Order and the First Methodist Church benefitted from his sincere interest. The comfortable brick residence and attractive park like grounds were enjoyed by the members of his family - his wife, Olive, son Francis, and daughter Oliva McLeod, until his death in 1936.
